HOSPITALITY, PROJECTS

Signature by Amaya

Signature by Amaya

  • Architect: Kumudu Munasinghe
  • Location: Kandalama, Sri Lanka
  • Project Year: 2014
  • Photographer: Kumudu Munasinghe
  • Author: Ravijani Gunathilaka

With the lavishing views of Kandalama Lake, this property is surrounded by a picturesque natural setting that imprints a beautiful memory in one’s hearts. This is a holiday haven nestled under the shade of towering trees and located on the edge of Kandalama Lake which offers you a unique experience of solitude and surreal serenity that stands out amongst other hotels in Dambulla, Sri Lanka, while being shrouded in nature’s warmth

A nature-lover’s dream, Amaya Signature is designed to embrace nature, surrounded by lush foliage, with thoughtful pathways and elements of décor that meld with the surrounding environment. Drawing inspiration from their location in the cultural triangle of Sri Lanka, the architect has tried to incorporate elements and crafts from the island’s rich history. Opening onto a verandah that brings the gardens outside into a private space, the suite exudes a sense of unity with the world around.

Signature Suites build an artful balance between the majesty of the scenic views and luxury for the discerning traveler. As you step out onto the private verandah, the balmy air by the Kandalama Lake and the soothing serenity of its water invite repose. Inside the suite, tasteful furnishings, teak flooring, unique accents, and a jacuzzi evoke feelings of luxurious comfort. Explore the cultural heart of Sri Lanka, discover its historic and natural treasures, and return to bask in the genuine warmth of Signature, in the light of a tropical sunset on the waters of the lake.

In warm colours of beige and gold that complement the wooden floor, with plush designer furnishing, the interior spaces are resplendent with natural light. A spacious private verandah, with locally crafted furniture, carries a breath of fresh air through. Unearth the secrets of the ancient kings, revel in the outdoor activities on offer, and return to a sanctuary of ease and well-being.
