Where the Pines Belong This Christmas installation interprets the festive tree as an abstract coniferous forest, emphasizing the idea of trees existing where they naturally belong rather than as a singular, displaced object. The composition is developed as a clustered landscape of triangular forms, where variations in height and proportion create depth, balance, and a clear spatial hierarchy. This approach allows the installation to read as an environment rather than an isolated element. The design is constructed using reclaimed corrugated board, carefully sourced from post-consumer packaging and reassembled to highlight both structure and texture. The exposed edges and layered profiles celebrate material honesty while reinforcing a sustainable and forward-looking approach. Minimal lighting is integrated to enhance the sculptural quality of the forms. Rather than decorative illumination, the lights are intended to represent distant stars, forming a subtle backdrop that strengthens the sense of place and situates the forest within a quiet, atmospheric landscape.
